Rescued Animals

Over the years, with the exception of all of the cats that I've rescued from shelters (currently numbering around 14), I have been saving little critters from premature deaths. Back in 1989 or 90 ( I don't remember which), I saved a box turtle from being run over. It was in the middle of MD I-695 and came damned close to being turtle pate. That same year I literally fished a chipmunk out of my in-ground bird bath, It fell in and couldn't climb out. I think it had been swimming around in there for a few hours, because the little thing could barely stand up when I pulled it out. I put it in the sun and after a couple of hours it dried out and ran off, but not before I could get a picture of it. Finally, last week a baby lovebird, 2 months old, crash landed in my back yard. I went out and picked it up, put it in a cat carrier and gave it some food and water. I took it to the local Animal Shelter where it was immediately adopted by one of the ladies who work there. Thank you Liz. She named it Lupe. So, below you will find pics of the turtle, chipmunk and little Lupe.

Enjoy.
