Menusoft Systems - From January 2000 to January 2003
As a third year technical support representative, I assisted
the dealers of our product, Digital Dining ( a restaurant Point of Sale software
package ) with troubleshooting and diagnosing system problems and errors which
occur as a result of either improper setup or bugs in system code. Responsibilities:
- Use of a maintained database of known problems and resolutions.
- Assisting with the setup and implementation of a wide variety of features
of the product, both old and new.
- Using FoxPro database software to open and repair corrupted system files.
- Support multiple versions of the product, each with it's own set of features
and problems.
- Periodically take on special projects ( testing new hardware for compatibility
).
- Creation of HTML web pages which detail a breakout of the system database
file structure for use by dealers on the Corporate website.
- Test, verify and document new bugs in system code.
- Serve as a dealer liaison for new dealerships for their first 90 days.
- Provide emergency pager support during off-hours and weekends.
- Maintain a database of company hardware, updated semiannually.
Tek Systems - From April 1999 to January
2000
As the UNISYS IWS/LAN Administrative Coordinator (under contract
from Tek Systems), I assist in the installation of LAN's for the Social Security
Administration, coordinated the retrofit of 1,200 existing sites and tracked and
expedited subsequent orders. Responsibilities:
- Distribution of site drawing schematics to IWS/LAN installation sites, Project managers and team leaders.
- Update and keep current the installation worksheets in the Event Management System (EMS) database.
- Production and distribution of retrofit software
- Maintaining & updating the IWS Master database
- Maintain, track and expedite subsequent orders made to existing sites that require periodic upgrades.
- Assisting with relocation of existing sites to new buildings
EDP On-Line BBS - From November 1993 to September 1996
As the Owner/Operator, directed and maintained a computer BBS
(Bulletin Board Service) with a database of 300+ customers. Responsibilities:
- Procured, installed and performed technical and systems maintenance for all hardware
and software.
- Performed system upgrades - including installation of SCSI controller cards, CPUs,
mother boards, CD-ROM units, additional memory and phone lines - based on routine evaluations
of system performance and a cost/benefit analysis of new hardware options.
- Resolving DMA and IRQ conflicts within the system.
- Software programming, including the creation and coordination of on-line message areas.
- Handling customer complaints and resolving problems.
- Policing system for breaches in system integrity.
A.C.T Computer Sales/Service - From April 1994 to May 1995
Worked extensively with small to mid-sized business customers,
determining their computing needs and building affordable systems for them. Responsibilities:
- Building and servicing PCs, including on-site customer service.
- Complete daily inventory and service checks.
